Founded February 12, 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s foremost, largest, and most widely recognized civil rights organization.
The Student of the Month was a program started and sponsored by Judge Eric Lucas in 2010 to recognize a student of color in one of the County’s high schools.
Each Student of the Month, chosen by their high school counselors is entered into the Freedom Fund Gala’s Shirley Walthall Youth Achievement Award pool.
